Warsaw Branch Receives Large Book Donation

The Cicela Family partnered with Deep Green Machine a local 501 (c) 3 Not-for-Profit and the Boonslick Regional Library System to bring Anti-Racism/Anti-Discrimination books to local libraries. The Cicela Family and Deep Green Machine donated funds to purchase books for the Boonslick Regional Libraries — over 60 titles collectively.

The donation of books is a collection focused on various aspects of BIPOC Anti-Racism/Anti-Discrimination. Books include topics such as:  history, culture, politics, current events, poetry, community, activism.  The collection includes titles for adults,  young adults, and children.

In light of current events, Frank Cicela shared that inspiration for making the donation came from participating in a recent demonstration led by Rev. Randy Fikki at Unity Southeast in Kansas City — along with reading first-hand accounts of events happening across the nation.  This, combined with a personal struggle to find meaningful action that could be taken, from within my sphere of influence.  This is a token effort to: do something, from where I am, with what I have….

Boonslick Regional Library Director, Linda Allcorn, expressed appreciation to the Cicela Family for making this wonderful donation to the library.  The books may be requested online through the library website or by phoning 1-660-827-READ.
