Boonville library relocating soon!
After more than a decade of efforts to provide a new building for the Cooper County Branch of the Boonslick Regional Library (BRL), we are almost there! But to move forward to reach our goal, we need your help and support.
For the past four years, the BRL Cooper County Trustees and Board have been working with the City of Boonville to relocate the local library to the Library Learning Center (LLC) on the Kemper Campus. Thanks to the support of so many, we are close to seeing our dream become a reality. Exterior improvements are nearing completion—the addition of a 32-space parking lot, a handicapped accessible west entrance with ramp, and rebuilt front steps—to make access easier for all library patrons. Once these projects are completed, BRL can proceed with the necessary modifications to the interior in early 2022, including the addition of a stairway from the main level to the lower level for access and safety reasons. All three levels will be transformed to provide Cooper County residents and visitors an inviting, comfortable place for all ages. There will be designated spaces for children, young adults, adults, writers, genealogists, projects and programs, and community meetings, to mention a few. The library will continue to offer public computers, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and extensive internet resources.
Décor details for the library’s new home are being finalized, but with your help we can begin interior renovation work as soon as possible. To expand the gift-giving availability, the Cooper County Branch of the BRL has enlisted the assistance of the Community Foundation of Central Missouri/Boonville Community Foundation for receipt of donations. Donations can be made by cash, check, credit card, stocks, securities, and bequests, as well as IRA-related Required Minimal Distributions (RMD) and Qualified Charitable Deductions (QCD), to the Boonslick Regional Library Cooper County Fund. For substantial donations, naming opportunities are available. Enclosed for your convenience are a donation form and return envelope.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Mary Pat Abele, Chair of the Cooper County Building and Expansion Committee (660.888.1611 firstname.lastname@example.org) or any BRL Cooper County Trustee or officer of the Friends of the Library. We are very close to seeing a dream come true, but we can’t do it without YOU!
