Boonslick Visits Christbaum Fest in Cole Camp

Boonslick Regional Library got into the Christmas spirit recently at the annual Christkindlmarket, Market. Anita Derrindinger brought the Bookmobile to join in the festivities. She and Greg Burel from the Cole Camp Branch distributed many free books throughout the evening to families passing by.

Children were even treated to a reading of “The Grinch that Stole Christmas” and lessons on how to play the kazoo! The Bookmobile provides mobile library services throughout our rural communities. Anita distributes free books and materials at rural drop sites throughout the tri-county region as well as providing a wireless Wi-Fi connection to areas that do not normally have access to the internet.

Christmas festivities continued the following week with a special Story Time with Santa sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Parents and young patrons were treated to a few Christmas classics like the “Night Before Christmas” and “The Three Gifts” then won a Christmas ornament after a fun festive version of hot potato. The group also did crafts and rounded out the event with cookies and hot cocoa. Other holiday offerings from the library include: Holiday Book and Family Night Bundles (grab and go bags filled with family Christmas movies, picture books, crafts and snacks), a huge selection of Christmas movies, and of course tons of books by favorite authors. Don’t forget to drop off your wish lists for Santa at the library’s Santa Mail Box to make sure they get delivered in time.
